God continues to show up in mighty ways. The Pillow Project is almost 4 years old and God is not finished with it yet. One of His unbelieveable ways of showing up started at the funeral of Elaine. I was asked to speak, by her husband, about Elaine's involvement in The Pillow Project. It was not hard to express how Elaine had blessed all those pillows. Elaine's involvement was a beautiful thing. Afterwards, at the reception, a lady named Liz (shown above left), came up to me and asked me if her kids could help stuff the pillows. You see, we were now faced with an empty spot, because Elaine would stuff pillows for me while she was at home with cancer. I said, "Let's try it." Well, that was about a year ago and Liz's family is still stuffing pillows for the children at The Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida. When I say her family, I mean her husband (Joe), herself and two children. I am guessing they have stuffed 3-400 pillows so far. But this time was different...it was a friends and family affair, with no less than 9 willing participants. It reminds me of the body of Christ, how we all work together to accomplish God's work.
"Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men." Colossians 3:23
