It's Been Too Long-12/12/23

I have been remiss about writing on this blog since before the pandemic.  Today it changes.  Let me tell you what has been going on for the last 3 1/2 years.  I posted a couple of pictures in 2019 and wrote nothing, then the pandemic hit in Spring of 2020 and you could say it shut us down for awhile.  Since that time, God's workers for the Pillow Project have changed, but we are still active.  Three previous members of our team have gone onto their heavenly home.  Jerry, Liz, and Elaine are no longer with us, but they are rejoicing with Jesus in heaven.  We have added several new workers.  It is almost hard to believe how God still has His hand on the ministry.  People change, they come and go, yet God's work continues.  He has shown us quite clearly that we are not finished with this project.  Recently we were handed a nice donation that will help greatly with the volume of things we hand out.  So, we continue to go and be obedient in helping the needy homeless people of Orlando.

In Christ,

Barbara

Meet Gilberto, our faithful friend from Lake Dot.  We met Gilberto several months ago.  He is almost always sitting by the lake and when we pull up and always delighted to see us.  Two weeks ago, we told him, "We will be back in two weeks with Christmas cookies."  So...when we drove up on December 12th, he smiled and said, "I want my cookies!"

Gilberto is truly homeless, but I don't know his story.  He has already acquired 3 pillows, as they do get dirty!

This year we handed out more cookies than ever...80 bags!!!

“And if you give yourself to the hungry,

And satisfy the desire of the afflicted,

Then your light will rise in darkness,
And your gloom will bec
ome like midday.”
